The Malibu area was shaken by a 3.6 magnitude earthquake early this morning, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake struck at approximately 4:30 AM PST, with its epicenter located approximately 10 miles west of Malibu, at a depth of 6.2 miles.

While the earthquake was felt throughout the Malibu area, as well as in parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, no major damage has been reported. The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Ventura County Fire Department reported receiving no calls related to the earthquake.
