India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin turned back the clock on the first day of the first Test against the West Indies at Windsor Park, Dominica, smashing a century in a display of exceptional batting prowess.
The day's play, however, ended in a draw with India finishing at 364/5, with a dominant Ashwin contributing a massive 124 runs. The West Indies bowlers, despite their efforts, found it difficult to contain the Indian batters on a pitch offering minimal assistance.

Ashwin, known for his bowling prowess, showcased his batting skills in a display of exceptional composure and resilience. His century, coming off just 138 balls, was his fifth Test century and his first since 2018. He was particularly impressive against the spin, showcasing exceptional footwork and timing.

Indian Batting Dominance
Apart from Ashwin's remarkable century, the Indian batting unit impressed with consistent performances. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, started the innings strong, scoring 60 runs before being dismissed by Alzarri Joseph.
Virat Kohli, the former captain, also made a significant contribution, scoring 76 runs, while Ajinkya Rahane added 54 runs to the total.
